Lewis Hall has finally put pen to paper at Newcastle United over a loan move with a “mandatory” £35 million buy option including a sell-on clause. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the transfer, with Eddie Howe confirming that this will be the Magpies’ final bit of business for the remainder of the window.

The Tyneside club had already seen a number of offers rebuffed, however, Hall’s obvious intention to work under Howe meant the clubs could come to an agreement. Romano reported that the English manager had kind words to say about the teenager, “He’s a player I like — very versatile with really good potential”.
Newcastle have improved their defence further with the talented left-back, a position believed to be one of their weakest. The recent signing of Valentino Livramento means they have ample depth on the other side of the defence. Hall provides perfect competition to the likes of Dan Burn and Matt Targett.
The England youth international crept into the fray at Chelsea last season where he made an impressive debut against the side pushing to sign him. He went on to win Chelsea Academy Player of the Year for 2023.

The Toon kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 5-1 drubbing over well-fancied Aston Villa on Saturday. Following the impressive victory, Howe told Sky Sports “We’re hoping for one more [signings], no guarantee, but we will fight to the end to strengthen”.
With more competition than ever in West London, the teenager’s best option seemed to be a move away with Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella and now Ian Maatsen being held in high regard.
The youngster, who is hailed as the “next Ashley Cole” would be hoping that this move proves to be a fruitful one for his career.
