Liverpool hero John Aldridge insists the clash between Mohamed Salah and manager Jurgen Klopp has been overblown.

The pair rowed on the touchline during the 2-2 draw at West Ham.

Aldridge wrote for the Liverpool Echo: "When things are down, not going well, your star player falling out with your manager is the last thing you really want to see. People put two and two together and get five and six.

"Tempers flare up, passion. Whatever was said, we don't know. I'm sure they sat down on Monday morning in the manager's office and had a chat. It's water under the bridge.

"Tempers were high for whatever reason. Mo might have thought he should have been playing, but the manager is the manager. It's his decision at the end of the day.

"To be fair, none of the forwards have been really hitting the high notes, so it could have been any of them benched. We're still not taking our chances and the manager has seen it the way it was and tried to change it.

"I've seen the hoo-ha about what he's said after the game, there being fire if he talks. But he didn't speak so it's all irrelevant. They've drawn the game and everyone's disappointed."
