Chelsea were the better side for large parts of the game against Real Madrid tonight, but many will feel that is because they were allowed to be the better team by the opposition.

Madrid tend to play games like that and lure teams into a false sense of security before striking an ultimate killing blow, and they did that twice tonight through Rodrygo.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spoke on the team after the game.

"I'm worried for Chelsea."

"If you don't invest the £500 million, then you have a problem."

"They haven't invested well."

This seems to be the general feeling around Chelsea. They signed a lot of players but didn't address key issues. How can a team spend £600million and not sign a centre-forward?

Chelsea have been cost games by poor finishing this season and it's something that could have been solved by putting some of the money they spent towards a capable striker last summer or in the January window.

"They have the same weaknesses as before. They don't score enough goals. They've got a lot of possession but not enough conversion."

Wenger went on to mirror them thoughts and it's the same things everyone is thinking. Kai Havertz cannot lead a line on his own. He doesn't have that goalscoring streak in him and Chelsea need that right now.

It could be a long road for Todd Boehly if he cannot steer this sinking ship next season.
