Raiders' Zamir White Puts Exclamation Point on Season 2
USA TODAY Sports

Second-year Las Vegas Raiders running back has some big shoes to fill with All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs' absence these last four games.

Most fans likely did not expect the young running back to meet the standards of the 2022-23 rushing champion, but it's safe to say White did just that.

With his 125-yard rushing outing in Las Vegas' 27-14 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, White notched his second 100-plus rushing-yard performance in three games, the first having come in the Raiders' upset win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day. He became the first Raider ever to record two 100-yard rushing performances in his first four career starts.

White was the first to get the balling rolling on offense in Sunday's victory as the former fourth-round pick put together 42 rushing yards on the Raiders' first touchdown drive. He averaged 7 yards per carry on the drive.

White came up big again on Las Vegas' second touchdown drive of the contest that began on its own 2-yard line with less than two minutes to go before halftime. The young running back burst up the middle for a 25-yard gain on just the second play.

Las Vegas would go up by 10 points at the half.

Similar to his late-game heroic efforts against the Chiefs, White would make one last statement to end his 2023-23 campaign. When just under five minutes remaining in the game, White executed on three straight runs for a combined 17 yards to chip away at the clock and further improve the Raiders' scoring chances.

Las Vegas would end up making a field goal to go up 27-14 and all but put away the game.

White concluded his second NFL season with 451 rushing yards, 98 receiving yards and one touchdown after taking just 40 offensive snaps in his rookie season.
