Former NFL QB says Tennessee QB Joe Milton has the most upside of any player in the 2024 NFL Draft
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Opinions on Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton vary wildly ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Earlier this month, The Athletic's Dane Brugler noted that some NFL teams think that Milton will eventually transition to tight end in the NFL.

That take is in stark contrast to a recent take from former Notre Dame/NFL quarterback Brady Quinn, who currently works as an analyst for CBS Sports.

Quinn suggested earlier this month that Milton has the most upside of any player in the 2024 NFL Draft.

"Joe Milton, the most upside of any player in this draft class," said Quinn. "No one has the physical gifts that that Milton possesses. He has a rare combination of size, arm strength, and athleticism. He can throw off platform. He's extremely mobile. He's strong in the pocket. And he takes care of the football."

"Whichever team drafts Joe Milton, they have a bit of a project," add Quinn. "But the rewards could be huge in the future."

Hitting on a quarterback in the NFL draft is one of the toughest things to do in sports. Teams seemingly miss on first round quarterbacks all the time (the list of first round quarterback busts is lengthy). Essentially, it's tough to really know how a quarterback will fare at the next level until they get a shot. Milton's going to get his shot somewhere. And he'll have a big chance to prove all of his doubters wrong.
