Did Rob Gronkowski tip hand on Bill Belichick's future?
Former NFL TE Rob Gronkowski Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Rob Gronkowski seems to sense which way the wind is blowing with his former coach.

The retired tight end legend Gronkowski made some interesting comments about Belichick on Sunday during FOX’s NFL pregame show. After thanking Belichick for all that Belichick did for him during his career, Gronkowski said that he has “been hearing on the streets” that the Atlanta Falcons are after Belichick.

“Don’t expect Coach Belichick to be done from here on out,” said Gronkowski. “He’s coming back with vengeance. And I’ve been hearing on the streets the Atlanta Falcons are coming in hot for Coach Belichick.”

The 71-year-old Belichick just parted ways with the New England Patriots after 24 total seasons and six Super Bowl victories. He is widely expected to continue coaching and one top NFL insider has already linked Belichick to the Falcons. Atlanta is on the hunt for a new head coach after firing Arthur Smith at the end of the regular season.

For his part, Gronkowski was drafted by Belichick and the Pats in 2010 and spent nine seasons in New England (which included three Super Bowl wins). Gronkowski and Belichick have also kept decently close in the years since then, so Gronkowski might have a better idea than many of what Belichick is thinking right now.
