Could WR Josh Gordon soon be reinstated again?

Wide receiver Josh Gordon hasn't appeared in an NFL game since the 2019 season, has received handfuls of suspensions for violations of the league's drug-related policies, had a conditional reinstatement officially rescinded last January and was released by the Seattle Seahawks in March.

Gordon could potentially be back on the field this fall.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the National Football League Players Association recommended to the NFL that Gordon be reinstated after he completed his latest treatment program.

Gordon earned First-Team All-Pro nods in 2013 when he recorded 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns, but his inability to remain eligible for an entire season since then made him one of the NFL's biggest "what could have been" stories of the past decade.

As ESPN noted, Gordon most recently played in the Fan Controlled Football league earlier this year alongside former Cleveland Browns teammate Johnny Manziel. Gordon is familiar with Russell Wilson and Tom Brady from stints with previous employers, so the Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are two potential landing spots if he is to receive another chance to relaunch whatever is left of a once-promising career.
