Cardinals TE Trey McBride Excited to Grow With Kyler Murray
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride burst on the scene to finish the 2023 season, establishing himself as a premier presence in Arizona's offense moving forward.

That's a welcome sight for Cardinals fans and quarterback Kyler Murray, who will (hopefully) land a handful more weapons this offseason as Arizona builds on their progress made over the last calendar year.

While the future is still unclear on names such as Marquise Brown or Marvin Harrison Jr., McBride hopes to only get better moving forward as a top weapon.

"You know, I think it was just having the opportunity to get on the field. To play and to show the coaches what I can do," McBride said on "Up & Adams" earlier this week.

"I had a great connection with Kyler, he was trusting me and throwing me the ball. It was just a lot of fun. I was out there making plays and it was a blast doing it."

McBride was relegated to back-up duties behind Zach Ertz to begin the season, though Ertz's injury gave McBride an opportunity to run away with the starting role - one he clinched fairly easily with his production and playmaking abilities.

McBride reeled in 81 passes for 825 yards and three touchdowns on the season.

Now - with Murray confirmed to be Arizona's quarterback in 2024 - McBride is excited to grow with his quarterback.

"It was super exciting. Just to have a guy to have a whole offseason with him - we only got to play half a season [since] he was coming back with the ACL, so to now have a full offseason to be able to workout, to train and do everything this offseason - to have a full year with him, I'm excited to see the connection we have next year," said McBride on Murray returning next year.
