Arden Key: 'Would Be Good to Get Career High' Sack Against Jacksonville Jaguars
USA TODAY Sports

In the least surprising news of the week, Tennessee Titans pass-rusher Arden Key is ready to attempt to tee off against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Key, who spent the 2022 season with the Jaguars, has expressed added motivation against his old team in the past. And with Key just 0.5 sacks away from tying his career high and with a chance to knock the Jaguars out of the playoffs, Key isn't saying anything out of the unusual.

"I need one more to get my career high, and it would be good to get it against Jacksonville," Key said via 1045 The Zone's Kayla Anderson.

"Real motivating. It's still there. Hopefully we can go out there and get a win."

After recording 4.5 sacks and playing a key role for the Jaguars' defense in 2022, Key signed a three-year, $21 million deal with $13 million in guarantees with the Titans in the offseason. In March, he explained why he felt slighted by the Jaguars during the offseason process.

"I mean, so with me and San Fran, they told me straight up 'we can't offer you anything. If we offer you something it would be disrespectful to you. So go test the market out and see,'. With Jacksonville, it was a shock to me," Key said.

"I ain't going to lie. After the year I thought I was gonna be a Jacksonville Jaguar. But I felt disrespected because I came, came over there, built up the culture, brought a whole lot of energy. Changed the city, changed the town and I felt like I was, in my rightful mind, I was gonna be the Jacksonville Jaguar. But that didn't happen."

Key didn't make much noise the first time the two teams played this season, recording three tackles, zero sacks and zero quarterback hits in a 34-14 Jaguars win. Now, he will try to elevate his game against his former team.
