Pittsburgh Pirates gifts customized baseball jerseys to Russell Wilson and Ciara after ‘massive’ Steelers move
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

This offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers made one of the most headlining moves when they signed Russell Wilson , followed by trading former starter Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles. To honor the quarterback, Pittsburgh’s baseball team, the Pirates recently charmed Wilson and his star wife, Ciara with a customized gift.

Pirates are uniquely known for their “black and golden” uniforms, unlike the other Pittsburgh teams who prefer going with the same basic color. After inviting the nine-time Pro Bowler to throw the ceremonial first pitch, the baseball team made a couple’s jerseys customized for the gorgeous pair of Wilson and his Grammy-winner wife

A YouTube fan page of Ciara shared a sneak-peak video of the gorgeous black and golden jerseys featuring ‘Russell Wilson’ and ‘Ciara’ with number 3.

The famous NFL couple’s connection with the Major Baseball League isn’t something new, since the two have been working on bringing the MLB to Portland as the part owner of the Portland Diamond Project, which is working to make it happen. Wilson and Ciara signed the deal as the investors years ago.

Wilson has previously expressed great belief in Portland, stating it has the potential to become one of the biggest MLB cities and that’s why they invested in the project.

Even though the Pirates’ opening game didn’t end well as they lost to the Boston Red Sox, the highlight of the game was the presence of the Steelers’ new quarterback, Wilson to throw the first pitch of the game, which resulted in a strike and took batting practice as well.

Despite everything that happened with the Denver Broncos last season, which eventually led to Wilson landed in Pittsburgh, he remains among the top QBs of the league. He led the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl in 2013 and was honored with nine Pro Bowls.

The quarterback is entering his 13th season in the league and first with Pittsburgh, where he signed a one-year deal. They have also acquired Justin Fields as the backup quarterback to Wilson, after trading away Pickett to Philly.
